Garden Week in North High Shoals

The North High Shoals Mayor and Council invites you to share your morning with us at Dog Day in North High Shoals on May 5 from 9:00-noon. It's a day to enjoy the town and its park, the spring weather, friends and family, and your special dogs. Several contests will be offered, and snacks will be available. In addition, if you know someone who might want to help with the show (for example, someone who has hunting dogs that could give a demonstration), please let organizer John MacKay know. Several organizations have committed, including Dock Dogs, the Oconee Fire Department and more. Please help us spread the word, and let John MacKay know if you can volunteer to assist with setting up the obstacle course, serve as a judge, offer some ideas, help with publicity and donations for prizes, etc. John can be reached at 706-286-4572, and the phone number for North High Shoals Town Hall is 706-769-4289. Hope to see you in North High Shoals on May 5 (rain date May 12).

DOG DAY at City Park!!!!   MAY 5th, 9am - Noon.  Join Us!

Your county is updating its Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan, which better prepares the community for a natural hazard event (such as a tornado or flood). Your answers to these questions will help us identify steps we should take to prevent injury to citizens and damage to property during and after such an event.
North High Shoals is seeking citizens to participate on a committee to
explore options for a new town hall.  As you may know, the town submitted projects it intends to pursue with SPLOST funds.  One project included $250,000 for a new town hall.  We would like to have a building with restrooms, meeting space and offices for the town clerk and council.  We think it would be great to have a place where we could hold town dinners and other community events.  We have discussed restoration of historic structures or building a new structure.  Nothing has been decided at this point, and although we do not have all the funds to start construction, we would like to start planning. If you would like to help out in this process, please submit your name to the Mayor (P.O. Box 129, High Shoals, GA  30645) and describe why you would like to participate.
You can also email the mayor at this address.
