New business owners are required to complete an Occupation Tax Certificate Application and attend a Regular Council Meeting to apply for a business license. Please notify the Town Clerk at least 7 days in advance of the Regular Council Meeting if you would like to be included on the agenda. The North High Shoals Council meets the third Monday of each month at 7:30pm in the Community Center located at 260 Hillsboro Rd adjacent to the the Town Park. Application fees are $25 and due upon approval of the license.

All business licenses are valid for one year from January 1st-December 31st. To renew a business license, existing business owners do not need to attend a Regular Council Meeting if nothing has changed about their business. Renewal notices are mailed to business owners at the beginning of January. The renewal fee for a business license is $25 and due by January 31st. If the fee has not been paid by May 1st, the business license shall be declared delinquent under the North High Shoals Approved Code of Ordinance section 4.3.12 and be subject to all penalties applicable.
